Kal Ho Na Ho, This movie carries something something sensitive and rarely seen in Bollywood big budget films, tragedy.
The film starring Shahrukh Khan, Priety Zinta, Saif Ali Khan as Aman, Naina and Rohit released in 2004 and brought many people to the theatres to experience this rollercoaster ride filled with humour, a lil bit of carefree attitude and well the obvious one being feeling extremely sad as the movie comes to an end.
This movie revolves around the concept of living in the present and not worrying about future or what’s going to happen next because let’s be honest no one knows what really going happen any moment now and it also reminds each and every one of its viewers that life is indeed short, you can make plans and pretend to escape it but you never know when things get worse and life pulls a surprise Uno wild card. Aman, the main character is shown as an inspiration and someone filled with compassion and is optimistic in spite of whatever he is dealing with and this something beautiful to see. This movie breaks people’s hearts as its entangles all its viewers in this love triangle and you are left with wondering whose side to be on as both sides seem perfect. This movie also addresses women in a positive light and just warms hearts to see a little glimpse of them standing on their feet and not being less than anyone. It also had its dramatic moments with dramatic revelations telling the viewers the same thing again, no one ever knows what is going to happen next and this message is beautiful and clear in this movie. This movie leaves the audience in tears as they bid farewell to a beloved character.
This movie taught the viewers many things and not just that, the background music and the songs in the film were just perfect, from heart touching songs to foot-tapping wedding celebratory songs, all of these songs are something you can’t help but listen to and in spite of it set up in New York City, this film does include traditional and typical Indian moments which send a warm and at home feeling to the viewers.
On the whole, inspire how the film leaves its viewers bittersweet, it showed the audience how reality is bitter but one can make it better by living to the fullest and being happy. This film is something to not miss but do remember to get your box of tissues while you watch it.
