Nara Rohith is a brilliant performer. His journey in the Tollywood industry has been quite a ride. His films show reality and his script selections hit differently. Sree Vishnu’s script selection is unique too. His dedication and passion made him quite a remarkable actor. Nara Rohith, Sree Vishnu are close friends and their performances are always exceptional. They have worked together in a few movies. But in Appatlo Okadundevadu they both complemented each other’s performance.

Today marks four years of the film’s release and yet it feels like yesterday. The impact the film created on the viewers is quite strong. Appatlo Okadundevadu impressed the audience with a trailer cut. Even though the film is released with very few expectations the response was high. There are several elements which worked out well for the success of the film.

Appatlo Okadundevadu revolves around Railway Raju, an aspiring cricketer and Imtiyaz Ali, an honest cop and their encounters with each other. Railway Raju is a great player, yet failed in making his dream come true due to several reasons. And one of them includes Imtiyaz Ali. If Raju’s family is one of the reasons, Imtiyaz Ali forms the major reason. In twisted turns of fate, he ends up helping others to achieve their dreams. How did a cricketer’s and a cop’s path cross? How Ali’s interference in Raju’s life, wrecked Raju’s life? What happened to his dream sums up the storyline.

The film is centred around Raju and Ali. Even though the film revolves around them, there are many issues which are highlighted throughout the film. The director Sagar Chandra surfaced issues like Naxalism, gang wars, murders along with the intriguing plot. Taking the audience to different timelines, the director ensured not to mix the different subjects and confuse them, yet he managed to cover everything the story demanded.

Besides the clean direction, performances of the actors stood out to be plus points for the film. Both Nara Rohith as Ali and Sree Vishnu as Raju completed each other’s action. Though they are close friends, they justified their roles as rivals. Rohith lived his role as an honest do-good cop while expressing rivalry against Raju. On the other hand, Vishnu had a great scope for performing which he used wisely. His characterization is interestingly mixed with a variety of emotions.

Other actors justified their roles but are shadowed by the performances of the leads. The twist which comes with the climax leaves the audience shocked and surprised. Even though the screenplay was a bit faulty at times, the climax and the performances managed to close up the loops.

Sagar’s conceptual direction and the excellent storyline depicting the ups and downs of a man’s life, the audience is presented with a different and convincing concept.
