One Nilambari, that gave shivers to the men who thought so less of women and one Sivagami who made the feminity with power, look so convincing yet royal, Ramya Krishna just nailed these big characters, with sheer ease. Can we even imagine these roles with anyone else? Ramya started her acting career in 1984 at the age of 14 in the Tamil film Vellai Manasu, opposite Y. G. Mahendra. In 1986, she made her debut in Telugu with Bhale Mithrulu. She acted in over 260 films in five languages: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. She has learnt various dance forms including Kuchipudi, Bharathanatyam and Western as well as did a number of stage shows. The role of Sivagami was first offered to Sridevi but as it couldn’t happen due to different reasons the makers approached Ramya for the character and the rest is history. “Baahubali” is one of the best movies of her filmy career. She received 3 filmfares , 2 Nandi Awards. Not many know that, she has shared screen space with B-town biggies such as Amitabh Bachchan in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Govinda in Banarasi Babu, Vinod Khanna in Parampara, Nana Patekar in Wajood, and Sanjay Dutt in Khalnayak. Ramya Krishna had hosted couple of Bigg Boss Telugu 3 episodes as superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni flew to Spain to ring in his 60th birthday along with his family. She is married to Telugu film director Krishna Vamsi and was blessed with a baby boy.
