His first accolade came into limelight when he was just 6 years old. Being his first-ever debut film Kalathur Kannama he was awarded the prestigious President’s gold medal. Being considered as one of the leading method actors in India, Haasan has travelled to America to learn the art of make-up and using prosthetics so that he could use the method in one of his films which later ensued in two of his blockbuster movies “Avvai Shanmughi” and “Indian”.

While there are many actors who find it challenging to pull off a dual role in conservatively fewer movies, Kamal sir see’s to it as a facile challenge. He has played dual roles for many as umpteen times. In fact, he has played quadruple roles in Michael Madana Kama Rajan, portraying each role with his remarkable performance. Later went on to establish a huge record of playing 10 roles in the 2008 critically acclaimed film “Dasavathaaram”.

The hard work and dedication of this man is beyond spoken of. He was the first Indian actor to get 1 crore as his remuneration for a film. He has won 4 national awards, a Padma Shri award and also the highest Filmfare award achiever with 19 awards, a record yet to be broken.

Keeping aside the prodigious facts, Kamal Haasan has been an inspiration to not only his fans but also to the directors and many neoteric generational superstars.

Wishing Kamal Haasan sir a very happy and prosperous birthday.
